add a remote host​

When you downloaded Nex Terminal,Then you can add a remote host (running linux system) follow the instructions below

  1. click in the toolbar,then select New Host.

fill your ip address or hosname of your host, alias is used to identify your host,for group,you can select default My Host or create new group

  1. Scroll down to the bottom and fill in the authentication information. There are three authentication methods available: password, SSH key, and Keyboard Interactive.

    1. For password authentication, simply enter your server's password. you don't need to enter your server's password every time you connect.

    2. For SSH key authentication, you can follow the instructions in How To Configure SSH Key-Based Authentication on a Linux Server. This article involves generating a key pair on your client machine and adding the public key to the server's ~/.ssh/authorized_keys file.

    3. Keyboard Interactive authentication is a method that prompts the user to respond to multiple server requests, such as entering a password, passphrase, OTP token, etc. With this method, you will need to input your password or other authincation info every time you initiate an SSH login session. If your SSH host requires One-Time Password (OTP) authentication for login, you should select the Keyboard Interactive authentication method, as it allows you to respond to the OTP prompt.

  2. Default terminal theme is "Builtin Dark",you can select more theme by click "Select Theme" button

  3. Click the "Connect" button. If all the information is correct, you will successfully connect to the server.
